Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kampasagar has organised workshop on HDPS cotton to Agricultural Officers and Agricultural Extension Officers of Haliya and Devarakonda clusters of Nalgonda dist. on 02.02.2024 at KVK, Kampasagar. Dr. S. Srinivasa Rao, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Kampasagar explained HDPS cotton details in Nalgonda District and explained best management practices to be followed to get more profits from HDPS cotton cultivation. Dr. N. Lingaiah, Senior Scientist & Head, ARS, Kampasagar explained about mechanization in cotton. Dr. K. Chandra Shaker, SMS (Crop Production) explained about nutrient management, application of growth regulators to control the excess growth and incorporation of cotton stalks in the field after harvest of the crop to increase soil health and quality. Smt. A. Ramulamma, SMS (Plant Protection) explained about pests and diseases and their management in cotton, paddy, redgram and groundnut crops. Sri. Venkata Ravindra, ADA, Halia explained about the cotton acreage and yield levels in Nalgonda dist. Later, all the scientists, AO’s and AEO’s observed pneumatic planter at KVK farm. In this programme Private seed company employees viz., Rasi, Crystal and Nuziveedu explained about their hybrids suitable to closer spacing methods. Nearly 71 AO’s and AEO’s of Nalgonda Dist, Young professionals participated.
