ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad organized 5 days Skill Development Training Programme on “Integrated Farming System” under SCSP in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), TANUVAS Namakkal, Tamil Nadu for SC farmers from 13.03.2023 to 17.03.2023 at KVK Campus.
Dr.M.Selvaraju, Dean, Veterinary College & Research Institute, Namakkal delivered Chief Guest address on role of allied components in IFS to improve the additional farm income, livelihood security of farm women and role of modern reproductive techniques of Cattle in Integrated farming to achieve higher milk production.
Dr.M.Balakrishnan, Principal Scientist & Chairman SCSP, ICAR – NAARM, inaugurated the training & distributed training kits to the participants and delivered address on smart integrated farming system models for effective utilization of farm resources, more net profit from less land areas, rural employment generation, alleviate malnutrition in rural areas and doubling the farmers income.
Dr.S.Alagudurai Associate professor & Head, KVK, Namakkal, welcomed the gathering and explained the various programs undertaken by the KVK for the benefit of the farming community and highlighted the importance of Integrated Farming System.
Dr.P.Murugan, Assistant Professor (Agronomy), KVK, Namakkal coordinated the five days programme and briefed about training program, also proposed vote of thanks.
In the Valedictory program, important critical inputs viz., vermicompost bed with earthworms, azolla bed with azolla seeds, one month old Aseel bird chicks, vegetable seeds kit for kitchen garden development, fodder seeds for fodder bank establishment, mineral mixture for livestock, waste decomposer, neem oil and yellow sticky trap were distributed to all the trainees as per requirement.
A total of 40 scheduled caste farmers from Mettupatti, Pilippaikuttai, Thusur, Sambamedu, Vadugam, E.Pudupatti, Nadupatti and Valayapatti villages of Namakkal District were participated and benefitted.
