Indian Council of Agricultural Research’s Institute Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute Avikanagar today, on July 7, 2023, representatives of the Government of Maharashtra, Ahmednagar Lok Sabha MP Mr. Sujay Vikhe Patil and Mr. Shashank, Managing Director, Maharashtra Sheep and Wool Development Corporation, Government of Maharashtra, in their delegation Dr. Arun Kumar Tomar, Director of Avikanagar Sansthan visited the visiting guests about various activities of the Sansthan, distribution of animals of camel breed, sheep, goats and rabbits to the farmers, various schemes of Government of India for the farmers of the country. Dr. Arun Kumar Tomar, director of the institute, along with the heads of their departments, discussed in detail about the operation, scientific way of sheep-goat and rabbit rearing training, etc. Gave detailed technical information while visiting Kharkosh Farming, Avishan Sheep Husbandry Unit, Avikaleen Sheep Husbandry Unit, Malpura Sheep Husbandry Unit, Patanwadi Sheep Husbandry Unit, Medicinal Plant Garden, Technical Garden, Development of Chargah, and Wool Plant Department etc.

Institute Director Dr. Arun Kumar Tomar told the honorable representatives of the Government of Maharashtra that at present, necessary training is being made available to the farmers throughout the year by the Institute to promote sheep-goat and poultry farming under the National Livestock Mission by the Government of India. The representative requested the director of the institute that whatever advanced technology and advanced animals of the institute have to be made available to the people of Maharashtra through the Government of Maharashtra, so that in the development of India’s self-reliant India, the Government of India has made people empowered and self-reliant in their livelihood.
