The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ropar organized an awareness programme on “Agromet Advisory Services” at village Agampur, block Anandpur Sahib, under the PAU-IMD project ‘Setting up of District Agro Meteorology Unit.’ It was conducted under the aegis of PAU and ICAR-ATARI Zone-I, Ludhiana, in which a total of 51 farmers and farm women participated.

Sh Dharamveer Goyal, Agromet Observer, DAMU, gave an introduction of Agromet Advisory Services.

Dr Aparna, Associate Prof of Animal Science, guided the farmers about the importance of the Agromet Advisory Services in livestock management. She also suggested various cautious measures for winter management of livestock.

Dr Urvi Sharma, Assistant Prof of Plant Pathology, elaborated the usefulness of Agromet Advisory Services in crop management. She also raised awareness regarding surveillance for yellow rust disease in wheat and its timely control.

Dr Satbir Singh, Deputy Director, shed light on various farmer welfare activities of KVK Ropar and ensured whole hearted support for any agriculture related problem. Participants were also guided about the subscription of various online and offline literature of PAU, Ludhiana. Besides, 45 new participants were enrolled for agromet advisory services.

Sh Rajesh Rana, key person of village Agampur, proposed a vote of thanks.
