In a concerted effort to address the pressing issue of crop residue management and environmental pollution, the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Bathinda, organized a program at the village of Chuge Khurd on October 26, 2023, targeting school students.

The day was filled with educational activities to raise awareness about responsible crop residue management. Students from various schools participated in events such as Nukadnatak, essay writing, and poster-making competitions, all strategically designed to sensitize the younger generation to the environmental implications of unchecked residue disposal.

To recognize the creativity and effort of the participating students, awards were presented to the winners of these competitions, encouraging them to continue their commitment to environmental leadership. Additionally, a rally was organized, bringing together students and community members to underscore the importance of sustainable agricultural practices. The event also included informative lectures delivered by KVK scientists, who shared valuable insights into paddy straw management techniques and discussed various activities undertaken by KVK to promote sustainable agriculture.

This program by KVK Bathinda is a step forward in nurturing a more environmentally conscious and responsible generation.
