The stage is set at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) for the 37th Inter-University National Youth Festival, set to take off at Dr AS Khera Open Air Theatre on March 28 at 4.00 pm. Nearly 2,500 students are expected to participate in the five-day youth fest which will culminate on April 1. The items will be organised at six different on-campus venues, including Dr Manmohan Singh (MS) Auditorium, Pal Auditorium, Wheat Auditorium, Dr DS Dev Examination Hall, Conference Hall of Dr MS Auditorium, and Dr AS Khera Open Air Theatre.

Highly elated to hold the national youth festival for the first time at PAU, Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, stated that this colorful extravaganza will celebrate the rich and vibrant cultural diversity of India via the participation of students, from different states, in a vast array of events.

“Bearing the insignia ‘HUNAR 2024 – Harvesting National Talent,’ the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi-sponsored national youth festival was all set to welcome the student and teaching fraternity from across the country,” said Mr Rishi Pal Singh, Registrar, PAU.

Sharing a detailed programme, Dr Nirmal Singh Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare, informed that items comprising one-act plays, classical dances, group song Indian, classical instrumental solo (percussion), poster making, clay modelling, collage making and quiz (preliminary) will be held on March 29. Competitions in one act plays, folk orchestra, western vocal song, light vocal solo, classical vocal solo, cartooning, mehndi, rangoli, and elocution will be organized on March 30, he told. Furthermore, Dr Jaura said that on March 31, folk and tribal dances, mimicry, skit, mime, group song western, quiz (final), classical instrumental solo (non-percussion), western instrumental (solo), spot painting, photography, installation, and debate events will be held, followed by valedictory ceremony at Dr AS Khera Open Air Theatre on April 1 at 11.00 am.
