Palampur 25 May. The scientists of CSK H.P. Agriculture University organized three days training camps on drudgery reduction.

Organized by the Department of Family Resource Management and Consumer Science of College of Community Science under Rastriya Krishi Vikas Yojna, these camps focused on “Drudgery Mitigation of Hill Farm Women through Improved Technologies” in Chatter, Kona, Bhataan and Ladoh village in Kangra district and Mohangatti, Dali, Padain, Sainthal and Harabagh villages in Mandi district.

The scientist made participants aware about improved work methods, tools and technologies and disseminated gender friendly technologies to them. Demonstrations were given on the use of appropriate technologies to reduce their drudgery, methods and benefits of natural farming, ready to use products from household wastes through resource management practices, effect of wrong working postures, work simplification techniques, conservation of resources and health hygiene practices.

Prof H.K.Chaudhary, Vice-Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the Dr. Neena Vyas, Ms. Aruna Rana and Ms. Madhu Dadwal for empowering the farm ladies with appropriate skill and knowledge to use suitable technologies and work methods which will help in mitigating their drudgery, saving time and enhancing output.

Dr Y.S.Dhaliwal, Dean, College of Community Science told that around 230 women have been benefited from this RKVY project.
