Palampur 22 September ,Dr. D K Vatsa, Vice-Chancellor, told that the six member team headed by well known farm scientist Dr.S.S.Chahal thoroughly reviewed and assessed the infrastructure  and other facilities in all the four constituent colleges, two directorates, farms, laboratories, units and other offices. The team members also interacted independently with all the stakeholders including farmers, students, alumni, parents of students, teachers and non teachers. The team will submit its report to ICAR for accreditation of various UG, PG and doctoral programmes, colleges and the University for further five years. During the exit meeting with the Vice-Chancellor and other statutory officers, the Chairman stated that the University has made tremendous growth during the last five years and many new initiatives have also been taken. He suggested that strenuous efforts should be continued for improvements in academic, research and extension programmes.

 The Vice-Chancellor disclosed that the University was working on a status paper on recent natural disasters in Himachal Pradesh and intends to submit a mega project to the Govt of India to thoroughly study it. He also said that a proposal for establishing an agricultural engineering college has been submitted to the State government. He told that admission process in the College of Agriculture will be completed after declaration of merit list by the ICAR.
