Palampur 27 September. Fourteen days ‘National training on the present status and future prospects of natural farming’ concluded  at Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University, here today.

As Chief Guest, Dr. P.K.Sharma, former Vice Chancellor distributed participation certificates to 30 scientists from various institutes from all over the country . In his presidential remarks, Dr.D.K.Vatsa, Vice Chancellor asked the trainees to share their newly acquired knowledge and skills among other scientists of their institutes and progressive farmers.  He said that natural farming can solve several issues of deteriorating human, animal and soil health. He informed that his University will come out with a standard ‘Package of practices in natural farming’ by next year. Guest of  honour  Dr Pardeep Kumar, Dean from Central University of H.P., Dr S.P.Dixit, Director of Research and Dr.Suresh Upadhyay, Dean PG Studies, appreciated that besides expert lectures, practical training has been imparted to the trainees involving leading natural farming experts. Dr Janardan Singh, Course Director and Head of the Department, Dr G.D.Sharma, Principal Investigator, Dr Rakesh Chauhan and some trainees also expressed their views on natural farming. Statutory Officers, heads and scientists were present on the occasion.
