As a part of Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) on Sesame (2022-23) conducted a ‘Awareness programme on crop diversification – sesame cultivation practices under contingency conditions’ by RARS, Jagtial in association with ARS, Adilabad in which Tribal farmers belongs to Gundivaagu and Gudihatnoor villages of Ichoda & Gudihatnoor mandals, respectively of Adilabad district were participated on 01.08.2023 at Rythu Vedika, Ichoda (M), District: Adilabad. In this programme, Dr. D. Padmaja, Scientist (Pl. Br.), AICRP on Sesame, RARS, Polasa, Jagtial; Dr. Sreedhar Chauhan, Pr. Scientist (Agro.) & Head; Dr. K. Rajashekar, Scientist (Entomology), ARS, Adilabad and Dr. N. Balram, Scientist (Plant Pathology), AICRP on Sesame, RARS, Polasa, Jagtial; Sri J. Kailash, Mandal Agricultural Officer, Utnoor; Sri Goule Datturam, Sarpanch, Gundivaagu were participated. During the programme, a Brochure on ‘Jagtiala Parishodhana Sthanam Nundi Vidudalaina Nuvvula Rakalu Saagu Yajamanyam’ was released by the dignitaries. Similarly, interacted with the farmers and created awareness on ‘Sesame varieties & seed production management practices under contingency conditions; Pest and Disease management practices in Sesame; Irrigation and Fertilizer management in sesame and answered the queries of farmers by the Scientists of RARS, Jagtial and ARS, Adilabad. Finally, distributed battery operated sprayers and plant protection chemical Acephate (500 g) to the Tribal farmers (20 nos.) of the above said mandals during the programme.
