A farmers’ seminar was organized on 19 January 2024 under the Tribal Sub-Plan at the Agricultural Science Center, Vallabhnagar. The farmers seminar was presided over by Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka Honorable Vice Chancellor Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur. Special guest of the program Dr. R. A. Kaushik, Director of Extension Education and Dr. PK Singh, Dean of Agricultural Technology and Engineering College, Udaipur. Shri Chhaganlal Jat District President Bharatiya Kisan Sangh also participated in the program. Principal Scientist of Agricultural Science Centre, Dr. R. l. Soni welcomed all the guests by wearing turban, shawl and uprana. In the welcome address, Dr. R. l. Soni said that Krishi Vigyan Kendra Vallabhnagar has been ready and working in the service of farmers for the last five years. At present, the new administrative building of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, farmers house, mushroom demonstration unit, goat and poultry rearing unit are ready. Where farmers can come and get training in new technology. In his presidential address, the Vice Chancellor called upon the farmers to make farming profitable by adopting innovations in agriculture. He inspired the young farmers to come forward for innovations in goat rearing and poultry farming. You inspired to make farming profitable by adopting cash crops like Broccoli, Red Yellow Green Capsicum, Baby Corn, Pop Corn, Cherry Tomato, Chappan Pumpkin and Jacuni in vegetable production and Karnataka Saheb through innovation and processing in farming. Gave suggestions to farmers to double their income.

Dr. R. A. Kaushik, Director of Prasar Shiksha, stressed upon the farmers to make farming profitable by innovating in fruits, flowers and vegetables. Dr. PK Singh, Dean, College of Agricultural Technology and Engineering, Udaipur, gave information to the farmers about water saving and management to get more production in less water and to increase the ground water level by conserving rain water on farms and fields. Shri Chhaganlal Jat told the farmers to join the Agricultural Science Center and Agriculture Department and avail the benefits of the government scheme. Dr. Kailash Ahir from the Agriculture Department expressed his views on integrated pest management in agriculture. 240 farmers and farmer women from Lasadiya, Salumber, Vallabhnagar subdivision participated in this program. In the programme, grain storage preservation containers were distributed to 100 farmers from the budget of the Tribal Sub-Plan and hybrid seeds of okra were also provided to the farmers. Faculty of Agriculture and R. N. 40 students of T College, Kapasan participated. This program was conducted by Mr. Hitesh Kumar Koli and Mr. Karan Singh expressed gratitude. Farm Manager of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mr. Mohan Lal Khatik and computer programmer Abhilasha Pokharna were present in this program.
