Soil Health Card (SHC) is a Government of India’s scheme promoted by the Department of Agriculture & Co-operation under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare. It is being implemented through the Department of Agriculture of all the State / UT. Health Card Scheme is a very beneficial scheme for farmers. The farmers do not know which types of crops they should grow to get maximum yield. Basically, they do not know the quality and the type of their soil. ICAR-CRIJAF is actively involved in the scheme through many programs to aware the farmers’. Two KVK’s under administrative control of CRIJAF located at Barrackpore and Burdwan recently celebrated the World Soil Day on 05.12.2017. About 400 farmers participated in both the programs at Barrackpore and Burdwan. KVK, Burdwan distributed 215 Soil Health Cards among the farmers.
