A total of 35 farmers attended the monthly training camp of PAU Flower Growers Club at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today.

Experts Dr Devinder Tiwari, Dr Khusdeep Dharni and Dr Ranjit Singh explained starting and running of farmer-producer organization (FPO), marketing practices and legal FPOs, and marigold cultivation in summers, respectively.

Dr Kuldeep Singh, Head, Department of Extension Education, while welcoming the farmers, advised them to promote floriculture as a profitable venture among fellow farmers. With rapid increase in urbanization and industrialization, floriculture was expanding fast, he observed, while saying that its use was no longer limited to religious or other traditional occasions but was emerging as an all-time profession.

Dr Lavleesh Garg, Extension Scientist, coordinated the programme, while Sardar GS Shergill, President of the club, proposed a vote of thanks. On the occasion, ID cards were distributed among the members, who later visited flower show also at PAU.
