About the institute
ICAR-IGFRI, is mandated to conduct basic, strategic, applied and adaptive research; development and training in forage production and it’s utilization. The Institute has highly experienced and internationally trained human resources engaged in needled, participatory, inter-disciplinary approaches. With more than 63 years of experience in forage research and development, IGFRI today stands as the premier R&D institution in South Asia. It has provided technologies, human resource development skills, consultancy and technical services on pasture management to government and non- government organizations, agri-business and farmers.
About the workshop
A workshop is being organized considering the effectiveness of the pasture to the productivity of the animals. The pasture management is essential for providing the animals with forage grasses and legumes and keeping the soil healthy. The workshop also aims to disseminate advances in grassland and pasture management and conservation technologies of grasses. It has been designed for the officers of state line department, KVK staff, SAU, NGO staff who are engaged in grassland and pasture management. The intake will be 30 participants on first come first serve basis.
