“Advanced Weed Management Technologies in Crops” for the group of progressive farmers of Bhakaliya, Gwari, Mangaon, Jujhari and Jhanjha of Patan and Gosalpur area of ​​Jabalpur district under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan by ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research. A 3-day training program was organized on the topic.


In the training programme, the trainees were given knowledge on various aspects of weed management such as: improved weed management in grain cultivation and crops, aquatic weed management, importance of digital media in agriculture and weed management, and importance of microorganisms in agriculture along with soil health, integrated in crops. Theoretical and practical knowledge was provided on subjects like pest and disease management etc. During the training program, farmers took active part in the discussion and the agriculture related problems of the trainees were solved by the scientists. Farmers were also given a tour of various facilities available in the institute like weed cafeteria, technology park, workshop and field etc.


The training program was concluded on 31 January 2024 in which wheel-hoe, knapsack sprayer and grain storage containers etc. were distributed to the farmers under the chairmanship of course director Dr. Yogita Gharde. 49 progressive farmers of Jabalpur participated in the training. The program was conducted by course coordinator Dr. Surbhi Hota and Dr. Himanshu Mahawar. In the program Shri S. Of.
