A skill development training programme in ‘Coconut cultivation technologies’ conducted from 01.08.2023 for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe youth under SCSP and TSP schemes at ICAR – CPCRI, Kasaragod. Total 21 trainees were participating for four different component of training programmes namely, 1) Neera Production and Value Addition, 2) Planting Material Production in Coconut 3) Agro-techniques in Coconut 4) Computer Application, Office Automation and E – Office Management Skills.

Dr. K. B. Hebbar, Director ICAR – CPCRI, Kasaragod in his presidential address urged the trainees to make use of the facilities of CPCRI to upgrade their working skill associated with coconut farming to improve their livelihood. The training was formally inaugurated by Smt. Mini P. John, Principle Agriculture Officer, Kasaragod. the training programme will continue up to 31.03.2024.

Shri. Harikumar, District Manager, Kerala State Development Corporation (SC & ST) Kanhangad, Kasaragod given key note addresses and urged the youth to become successful entrepreneur by improving their scientific skills involve in various coconut technologies. Dr. K. Samsudeen, Principle Scientist & Nodal Officer of TSP and Dr. Rajkumar, Senior Scientist & Nodal Officer of SCSP are the coordinators of the training programme.
