With the season of cultural activities knocking on the doors of the University, the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has come up with a comprehensive ‘Information and Rule Book’ pertaining to the smooth conduct of the PAU Youth Festival, to be held in the campus from November 1-9. The ‘Information and Rule Book’ was released by the Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, who besides being an internationally acclaimed agricultural biotechnologist, is also an ardent connoisseur of art and culture. Dr Gosal applauded the efforts of Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare (DSW), PAU, under whose aegis the compilation of this book had been made possible. “It is indeed appreciable that all information, rules and guidelines regarding the PAU Youth Festival have been documented and published by the Directorate of Students’ Welfare, PAU, thus paving the way for a hassle-free and transparent system to steer the Youth Festival,” he stated. The PAU VC heaped praise on the efficient staff of the Directorate who had meticulously jotted each detail therein.

The ‘Information and Rule Book’ has edited and compiled by Mr Satvir Singh, Supervisor, Cultural Activities, PAU, under the guidance of Dr Jaswinder Kaur Brar, Coordinator, Cultural Activities, PAU, and the overall mentorship of Dr Nirmal Jaura, DSW, PAU.

Dr Jaura, who has earned international fame and recognition for upholding Punjabi literature, art, folklore and culture, hailed the painstaking efforts of Mr Satvir Singh, for putting in endless hours compiling the rules in consonance with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) that oversees the conduct of youth festivals at the national level.

Dr Vishal Bector, President, University Dance, Drama, Music Club (UDDMC) shared that the ‘Information and Rule Book’ was the first of its kind to be brought out and would serve manifold purposes for an efficient conduct of various events scheduled as a part of the PAU Inter-College Youth Festival.

The Dance, Drama, Music Club (DDMC) Presidents of all constituent colleges of PAU comprising Dr Kamaldeep Singh Sangha, Dr Nilesh Biwalkar, Dr Ashoo Toor, Dr Karanbir Singh Gill and Dr Sharanbir Kaur Bal were also present at the book release ceremony.
