The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) will organize the Inter-College Youth Festival 2023-24 from November 1-9. Various teams have been constituted under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal for the smooth and successful conduct of the festival.

Giving details, Dr Nirmal Singh Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare, informed that the event will kick start with poetic recitation and haas rass, poster making, clay modelling, elocution and extempore on November 1 followed by photography, collage making, creative writing, cartooning, rangoli and quiz items on November 2. The competitions in mehndi, on the spot painting, shabad gayan (solo and group), calligraphy and debate will be held on November 3, he said. Further, competitions in cultural heritage events comprising enu making, naaley making, mitti de khidoney making, chikku making and piddi making will be held on November 4, and in phulkari making, pakhi making, muhaveredar vartalaap (use of idioms in conversation) and cultural questionnaire on November 5. The formal inauguration will be take place on November 7 followed by cultural procession, solo dance, folk songs, western solo, western group song, light vocal solo and group song Indian on the same day, he added. On November 8, items including group folk dances, mime, bhand, mono acting and one act plays will be held, while on November 9, skit, mimicry, lammi hek wale geetgiddha, bhangra and prize distribution function will be conducted, he told.

Dr Jaura further said that the entire atmosphere of the PAU campus was surcharged with enthusiasm and that there was a great zeal among the students for active participation in a wide range of items in the youth fest.
