In-service training course on “Common Diseases in Sheep and Goats” was organized under the aegis of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) and ICAR-ATARI, Zone-I, Ludhiana at PAU’s Krish Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Amritsar on April 22, 2024 in which 20 field staff from Department of Animal Husbandry, Amritsar participated. The training course was organized under the able guidance of Dr Bikramjit Singh, Associate Director (Training), KVK, Amritsar.

Dr Kanwarpal Singh Dhillon, Assistant Professor (Animal Science), KVK, Amritsar, extended a warm welcome to the participants, and shared the mandates and working of KVK with them. As a course coordinator, Dr Dhillon briefly explained the common diseases of sheep and goats in Punjab.

Dr Gurpreet Singh Preet, Assistant Professor, Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, imparted detailed knowledge on various diseases of sheep and goats including Foot and Mouth Diseases (FMD), Peste-des-petits (PPR), Enterotoxaemia (ET), Mycoplasmal diseases, Caseous Lymphadenitis, Orf, Rabies and Listeriosis.
