The PAU Alumni Association of Australia brought together on October 20, 2023 PAU Alumni families residing in Sydney for a memorable BBQ/Picnic event at Rouse Hill Regional Park in Rouse Hill, Sydney, Australia. This joyous occasion celebrated the unity of the five esteemed colleges of Punjab Agricultural University.

The event was filled with laughter, delectable food, and many engaging activities, including songs, poems, and the ever-entertaining game of tambola. In a touching moment, attendees observed a one-minute silence to pay tribute to those PAU Alumni who have departed from this world.

The PAU Alumni Association was deeply honored by the special message from Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice Chancellor of PAU, and expressed gratitude for his support of the event.

This gathering became even more special with the gracious presence of PAU Alumni from India and Canada, including Rashpal Singh – General Manager (Retd), UCO Bank of India; Gurinder Singh Bajwa – Deputy Director (Retd), Department of Horticulture, Punjab; Dr. Perminder Singh Bansal – PhD Veterinary Surgery and Radiology from PAU, currently serving as a National Specialist with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in Ottawa, Ontario, Dr Spinderjit Kaur – PhD Food Technology from PAU, holding the position of National Operations Leader with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in Ottawa, Ontario, Mr Harry Bhatti – BE from COAE and MBA from COB&H, Mrs Lovel Singh (Harkirat) – PhD Bio-Chemistry from COB&H.

The overseas guests were honored by Dr. Sewa Singh Mann, and the presence of Dr. Moninder Singh and Prabjot Singh Sandhu graced the event.

The evening was filled with melodious songs and heartwarming poems, thanks to the talented performances by Gurdeep Singh Hira, Mandhir Sandha, Mrs. Rupinder Sandha, Kulwant Singh, Mrs. Kiran Kaur, Mrs. Kulwant Kaur, and Nirmal Singh. The audience was treated to new pre-released songs by local lyricist Mr. Mani Manjot.

Mr. Nirmal Singh coordinated the smooth and timely flow of the event. The force behind the host team’s coordination was Naresh Mehrok.

Balwinder Goldy received accolades for his live catering, with his freshly prepared pakoras in high demand. Dr. Gurmail Singh Sangha served as the Press Secretary for the event.

The Norwest PAU Alumni organized this delightful BBQ event, and the baton for the next event in March 2024 was passed to the Ryde Group of PAU Alumni.

Dr. Dharmpal Singh Garcha, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, extended a heartfelt vote of thanks to all the PAU Alumni who joined this memorable event, making it a resounding success.
