A National conference was organised on ‘Trending Biotechnological Interventions to Address and Combat Himalayan Biodiversity challenges’ by Uttarakhand Council for Biotechnology in coordination with ICAR-Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries Research, Bhimtal from 6-8 March 2024.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. Narendra Singh Bhandari, Vice-Chancellor, Soban Singh Jeena University, Almora, in the presence of other dignitaries.

Over 100 scientists, academicians, and research scholars participated in six technical sessions on Biotechnological interventions in Veterinary, Animal Science, and Fisheries. A technical programme focused on entrepreneurship development for progressive Uttarakhand farmers was held, featuring over 12 institutions, entrepreneurs, and NGOs in an exhibition.

The conference was concluded with a valedictory session under the chairmanship of Prof. Om Prakash Singh Negi, Vice-Chancellor, Uttarakhand Open University, and, Dr. Pramod Kumar Pandey, Director, ICAR-DCFR, Bhimtal.
