ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad, organised a 5-day skill development Programme for Farmers on Emerging Rainfed Technologies for Sustainable Livelihood from 12th-16th February 2024 at ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad under SC Sub-Plan.

 

The Chief Guest, Dr. V. K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA, highlighted the emerging rainfed technologies. He also stressed the need to have skill development programs and the importance of group-based approaches for improving the income of farmers.

 

The programme covered post-harvest management, crop value addition, moisture conservation, water management, farm mechanization, drone application, integrated pest management, kitchen gardening, and rainwater management. The programme also included an exposure visit to the Millet Processing & Incubation Centre.

The Chief Guest for the valedictory session, Dr. M. S. Rao, Head. Division of Crop Science, ICAR-CRIDA, urged the farmers to adopt the latest technologies to improve their farm income. During the session, the Chief Guest distributed the certificates, Nutri Millet Kits and vegetable seed kits to the participants.

Dr. T. V. Prasad, Nodal Officer, SCSP briefed about the training programme.

A total of 20 SC farmers from three villages of Telangana State attended the training programme.
