ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Cooch Behar, organised an 5.03.2024 input distribution programme under the Govt. of India flagship programme on Cluster Frontline Demonstration on Oilseeds today, under the jurisdiction of ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Kolkata.

Prof. D. Basu, Vice-Chancellor, Uttar Banga Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Cooch Behar urged the need for the country’s self-sufficiency in oilseed production.

Dr. Pradip Dey, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata, emphasised the importance of CFLD on oilseeds in bridging the gap between research and practice, promoting innovation and technology adoption, and improving the livelihoods of farmers while ensuring sustainable agricultural development.

Sunflower seed (cv. Deb-5901) (30 ha) and sesame seed (cv. CUMS-17; Suprava) (10 ha) were distributed to target beneficiaries under the CFLD Oilseed program in four villages and three villages, respectively.

Dr. P.P. Pal, Principal Scientist & Nodal Officer, CFLD Oilseed, Dr. Bikash Roy, Head KVK, Cooch Behar, and other KVK staff and progressive farmers attended the programme.
