To tackle the challenge of crop residue management in the vast paddy fields spanning 1.20 lakh hectares in Kapurthala district, the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kapurthala, has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative. The organization, led by the dynamic team of Dr Harinder Singh, Dr Bindu, and Dr Amit Salaria, has developed a comprehensive Learning Platform showcasing technological options for efficient Crop Residue Management.

To address the awareness gap among farmers, KVK Kapurthala has been actively conducting village-level, block-level, and district-level camps. Additionally, in-service training programs for field functionaries and school teachers have been organized to disseminate crucial information on paddy straw management.

Taking a step further, KVK has initiated the development of Learning Platforms directly at farmers’ fields. Five dedicated platforms for wheat sowing, featuring innovative technologies such as Happy Seeder, Super Seeder, and Smart Seeder, have been established in Dhilwan and Sultanpur blocks. Furthermore, five additional platforms focusing on vegetable cultivation, including crops like potatoes and carrots, have been set up in Kapurthala and Sultanpur blocks.
