Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Bahowal, Hoshiarpur, and Department of Microbiology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, conducted a comprehensive training camp on subsidiary occupations in Rampur Sainian village, Mahilpur block, on February 6, 2024.

Led by experts such as Dr Parminder Singh and Dr Ajaib Singh from KVK, Hoshiarpur, and Dr Shivani Sharma and Dr Prabhjot Kaur from PAU, Ludhiana, the training camp aimed to equip farmers with practical knowledge and skills to enhance their agricultural practices.

Dr Parminder Singh welcomed the farmers and farm women, highlighting KVK’s commitment to the welfare of the farming community. He emphasized the camp’s importance in providing insights into seasonal management of dairy animals.

Dr Ajaib Singh shared valuable tips on quality gur shakkar production, while Dr Shivani Sharma delved into the intricacies of mushroom cultivation, providing hands-on training on compost preparation. Dr Prabhjot Kaur shed light on the various aspects of beekeeping, contributing to the diversification of farm activities.

The camp also included the distribution of dhingri mushroom spawn to participating farm families, enabling them to implement their learning effectively.
