Krishi Vigyan Kendra Fatehgarh Sahib organized training course on stitching and enrichment of garments from 8th to 22nd August 2023 in village Chunni Majra. A total of 28 rural girls participated in the training course. Dr. Vipan Kumar Rampal, Associate Director (Training) emphasized that such training programmes are important for the rural girls as they develop their skills, competencies thus leading towards their economic independence. Dr. Manisha Bhatia Assistant Professor (Home Science) equipped the trainees with various techniques of designing and fabric construction. Different techniques of value addition to the fabric including block painting, stencil painting, tie and dye and methods for removal of different stains from different types of fabric, latest trends in fashion designing were demonstrated to the trainees. Emphasis was also given on the designing principles, precisions to be kept in mind while preparing garments, presentation of garments in boutiques, importance of maintaining accounts and the importance and client satisfaction. The participants expressed their gratitude to KVK for organizing such training programmes in the village as it is beneficial to the rural girls especially those who have no resources to commute out of village to attend such training programmes.
