The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) Chapter, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organized a heartwarming celebration of Teachers’ Day on September 5, 2023. The event unfolded at Jacob Hall, bringing together students and faculties, to recognize and pay tribute to the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, an eminent philosopher, teacher and India’s first Vice-President and second President.

Dr HS Sidhu, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, in his welcome remarks, emphasized the need for nurturing a holistic education system that not only imparts knowledge but also promotes critical thinking, creativity and empathy among students.

Dr JP Singh, Chairman, ISTE Chapter, PAU, while extending warmest regards to the teaching community and students, highlighted the importance of teachers/Guru in the growth of the students professionally, emotionally, spiritually, and underscored the significance of their dedication and hard work in nurturing them for future endeavors.

The program featured a series of heart-touching speeches by students, expressing their gratitude to their teachers for their unwavering support and guidance. Several students shared anecdotes highlighting the positive impact their educators had on their lives. Certificates of appreciation were presented to outstanding educators who had displayed exceptional commitment and innovation in their teaching. The awards acknowledged their pivotal role in inspiring students and fostering a love for learning. Entertainment segments, including music, dance performances by students, added a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere to the event.

The event concluded with a heartfelt tribute to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose contributions to education continue to inspire generations. Attendees expressed their deep appreciation for the tireless efforts of teachers and their role in shaping a brighter future.
