The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ropar organized a five-day training course on the “Embellishment of Clothing through Different Techniques” under the aegis of the Directorate of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), and ICAR-ATARI Zone-1. About 18 participants participated in the training.

During the inaugural session, Dr Satbir Singh, Deputy Director (Training), KVK, Ropar, discussed the scope of this venture through value addition of fabric. He said rural women can enhance their skills in printing and dyeing through this training. He also urged them to adopt this enterprise as a step towards their skill enhancement.

Dr Princy, Assistant Professor (Home Science), shared that keeping in view the latest trends, participants gained practical experience in block printing and different types of tie and dye methods. She also shared information about various products of printing and dyeing for making decorative articles at household level.

On the occasion, an exhibition of products prepared by trainees during five-day vocational training was put up. Different types of tie and dye dupattas, block printed suits, bags and coasters were exhibited.
