Farmers’ Agricultural Service Centre (FASC), Kapurthala, in collaboration with the Co-operative Society, Talwandi Chowdrian, organized a training camp on CRM and Balanced Fertilization for Better Soil and Crop Health and Sustainable Productivity on 28.02.2024. The event witnessed the participation of approximately 100 farmers eager to enhance their agricultural knowledge and practices.

The chief guest, Sardar Bakshish Singh, a progressive farmer and president of the Co-operative Society, graced the event and shared his valuable insights with the attendees. The farmers were encouraged to pledge against stubble burning and instead adopt the practice of ploughing crop residues into the soil to maintain soil health and contribute positively to the environment.

Giving details, Dr Pardeep Kumar, Incharge, FASC, informed that the farmers received essential information on the latest Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) technologies for Crop Residue Management (CRM) and were introduced to new varieties of potatoes and other crops, crucial for the upcoming Zaid Kharif season. He added that the initiative aimed to equip farmers with the necessary tools and knowledge to achieve sustainable productivity while preserving the health of soil and crops.
