The ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Eastern Regional Station (ERS), Kolkata in collaboration with North 24 Paraganas Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ashoknagar and Gobardanga Seba Farmers Samity (GSFS) organized an “RIR Chick Distribution Program” at Amankandia Tarangahati village in North 24 Paragans district of West Bengal on 31st January, 2024. Dr G. K. Das, Principal Scientist, ICAR-IVRI, Kolkata, Dr, Kaushik Pal, SMS, KVK and volunteers of GSFS co-ordinated the event. One hundred and fifty (N=150) women belonging to scheduled caste community joined in the programme from Amankandia-Tarangahati, Shripur, Kuljhuti and Maraldanga villages. Beneficiaries underwent a poultry health awareness program on 29 th January, 2024. Three thousand(n=3000) Rhode Island Red Chicks and 150 kit bags containing medicines/ feed supplements were distributed among the beneficiaries.
