World Environment Day was celebrated at ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bengaluru on 5th June 2023. A tree planting programme was organized in the Biodiversity Block of ICAR-IIHR. Dr. S. K. Singh, Director, ICAR-IIHR graced the occasion and highlighted about the importance of celebrating the World Environment Day. He also urged that making all effort to free the earth from polythene is very important activity. Director and Scientists of the institute planted saplings of jamun, tamarind, lakshmanphal, Malayan apple, guava, mango and jack. Dr. P.C. Tripathi, Principal Scientist and Nodal Officer, PME Cell, ICAR-IIHR thanked all the scientist for their active participation and contributing for conserving the environment. The programme was coordinated Dr. Carolina Rathinakumari, Dr. M.R. Rohini, Farm Management Committee, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru.
