Eastern Regional Station, ICAR-IVRI, Kolkata celebrated 75th Republic Day on 26th January 2024 at its Belgachia Campus. The event began with the unfurling of the national flag by Dr. Arnab Sen, HORC, at Belgachia Campus followed by singing of National Anthem by one and all. While delivering speech, the HORC, Kolkata conveyed Republic Day wishes to all the scientists, staff and students and highlighted the achievements of the Regional Station. The HORC reiterated the importance of unity, diversity, and urged to work towards creating a society that is free from discrimination and inequality. Reiterating the theme of this year’s republic day “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) and “India – Mother of Democracy”, the HORC reminded everyone of the responsibilities they have on their shoulders. He further appealed all the staff to work together with selflessness, honesty and dedication for progress of the institute as well as the nation, and contribute even with small actions, towards achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat (Developed India), that is Self-reliant. On the Occasion, the Ex-Station In-charges of the regional station, Dr S C Das and Dr P S Banerjee also addressed the gathering. Overall, the Republic Day was celebrated in the regional station with full patriotic zeal and enthusiasm.
