Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bahowal (Hoshiarpur) organizes various training courses in subsidiary occupations for the benefit of farmers, farm women and rural youth of this area. In this context, five days Mushroom cultivation training was organized at KVK from 9th-13th October 2023 at its campus.

During the training, Dr. Sukhwinder Singh Aulakh, Asstt. Prof. (Vegetable Science), KVK Bahowal carried out in-depth discussion sessions on cultivation, spawn production, crop and disease management of Button, Oyster, Milky, Shiitake and Paddy Straw mushroom. Trainees learned various aspects of mushroom cultivation during hands on practical sessions at KVK campus.

On the concluding day of this training, an educational cum exposure visit to the farm of progressive mushroom grower, Sh. Baldev Singh was organized at village Thuana during which the owner of the farm shared his journey and experience for commercial mushroom farming. On this occasion, Sh. Manmohan Singh, a successful mushroom farmer & KVK trainee from village Bugra also addressed the trainees and inspired and encouraged them to adopt this profitable agriventure.
