Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gurdaspur organized an awareness camp for the students of Golden Group of Institutions, Gurdaspur on 10 November 2023 under Paddy Straw Management Awareness Campaign. This camp was organized by Associate Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gurdaspur. Organized under the leadership of Sarabjit Singh Aulakh.

During this awareness program Dr. Sarabjit Singh Aulakh, Associate Director (Training) gave detailed information about the damage caused by burning paddy stubble and the importance of various nutrients present in the stubble. He asked the college students to motivate their parents to plant wheat without burning the paddy stubble in this awareness campaign.

Professor (Agricultural Engineering) Dr. Ravinder Singh Chhina gave detailed information about various machines and techniques for handling paddy straw. Assistant Professor (Fruit Science) Dr. Yamini Sharma explained the importance of a nutrient garden and suggested mushroom cultivation using straw. On this occasion Assistant Professor Dr. Rajwinder Kaur was also present. During this program, the students who won in the speech competition encouraged them to turn the dirty Punjab into a colorful Punjab by promising not to burn the stubble.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra organized an awareness rally to create awareness among students and farmers about the harm caused by burning paddy stubble and also organized speech, slogan writing, essay writing and painting competitions. The students participated in these competitions with great enthusiasm and the winning students were also honored by Krishi Vigyan Kendra to encourage them.

On this occasion, Principal of Golden Group of Institutions, Gurdaspur Mrs. Nidhi Mahajan, Chief Administrative Shri. TR Sharman, Managing Director Engineer Raghav Mahajan, along with all the students and staff of the college were present.
