Mr Bhupinder Singh, CEO and Mr Kawaldeep Singh, Board of Director, Taran Tarn based Gharyala Dairy Producer Company Limited, were imparted four-day training by the School of Business Studies (SBS), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), in various aspects of managing farm-producer organizations (FPOs).

Dr Ramandeep Singh, Director, SBS, welcomed and interacted with the faculty members of SBS. He said: “FPO is an emerging concept and need of an hour. The trained manpower is required to manage FPOs. There is a need for the promotion of FPOs, so that maximum benefit can be availed by the farmers and members of the FPOs,” he observed.

Dr Khushdeep Dharni, Professor, SBS, delivered a lecture on market planning strategies for effective FPO business. He said that conducting market research and understanding consumer needs and targets were important for market planning.

Dr LM Kathuria, Professor, SBS, discussed assessment risk for smooth FPO business.

Dr Navdeep Aggarwal and Dr Mohit Gupta, Professor, SBS, deliberated on financial planning for FPO business and their importance in FPO business.

Dr Rakesh Rathore proposed a vote of thanks. Later, faculty members answered specific questions and shared their valuable suggestions for improving the FPO business.
