The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is all set to hold the 3rd International Conference of Agricultural Librarians and User Community (ICALUC – 2023) on “Agricultural Libraries and Sustainable Development Goals: The Way Forward” in the Pal Auditorium on October 5 and 6 . The conference will be jointly organized by Mohinder Singh Randhawa Library, PAU and Association of Agricultural Librarians and Documentalists of India (AALDI) as a part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of PAU and as an annual feature of AALDI. Dr RC Agrawal, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Education), ICAR; and Dr Anuradha Agrawal, National Coordinator, Project Implementation Unit, National Agricultural Higher Education Project-Centre for Advanced Agricultural Science and Technology; will be the chief guest and the guest of honour, respectively. The Chairperson Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU will preside over the event. At the valedictory function, Dr (Mrs) Bimlesh Mann, Assistant Director General (EP&HS), will be the chief guest, while Prof Prem Singh, University Librarian (retd.), Nehru Library, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Haryana will be the guest of honour.

Dr OP Choudhary, University Librarian and President, ICALUC, informed that the conference will provide an international platform for Library and Information Science and other professionals, students, librarians, academicians and research scholars to present new and original research findings, working experience, theoretical models and case studies. Besides helping to develop a vision for the agricultural librarianship, the conference will delve upon opportunities to identify the strengths and gaps in the existing system as well as suggest corrective measures for information delivery services, he added.

Dr Yogita Sharma, Organizing Secretary, further said that the conference will also include invited lectures, product demonstrations and publishing of conference proceedings. The conference will be attended by about 120 delegates from India and abroad (virtual mode), she informed.
