Awareness training program on “ICAR-IIHR technologies” for the farmers of Chengalpattu district of Tamil Nadu was organised under SCSP at Thirukalukundram, Chengalpattu District, Tamil Nadu on 21.04.2023.
Dr V Balakumar, Assistant Director of Horticulture, Department of Horticulture and Plantation crops, Govt. of Tamil Nadu, Thirukalukundram, welcomed the gathering. Dr R Senthil Kumar, Principal Scientist and Nodal officer SCSP, ICAR-IIHR briefly explained about SCSP activities followed by lecture on ICAR-IIHR fruit crop technologies. Later on Dr V Sankar, Principal Scientist briefed about IIHR developed vegetable varieties and technologies suitable for Chengalpattu district of Tamil Nadu.
ICAR-IIHR developed vegetable variety seeds such as Arka Bahar in Bottle gourd , Arka Garima in vegetable cowpea, Arka Vistar in Dolichos bean and Arka Nikita in Bhendi were also distributed to the beneficiaries.
This programme was attended by 50 farmers and officials from Department of Horticulture and Plantation crops, Government of Tamil Nadu, Chengalpattu, and coordinated by Dr R Senthil Kumar & Dr V Sankar, Division of Social Sciences and Training, ICAR-IIHR, Bangalore.
