A two-day workshop on the subject of nutritious grains and a conference of farmers, agricultural entrepreneurs, startups and investors is being organized from today at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour Bhagalpur. This workshop was inaugurated by the Honorable Industries Minister of Bihar, Government of Bihar, Shri Sameer Kumar Mahaseth. In this conference, agricultural entrepreneurs, farmers and investors from Bihar and representatives of many banks are brainstorming on the possibilities, challenges and solutions for developing nutritious grain based enterprises in Bihar.
Speaking as the chief guest, the Honorable Minister said that despite always struggling with disasters like floods, Bihar has full potential to become a leading state in entrepreneurship but special state status has been demanded for a long time. If it had been completed today, Bihar would have been in the category of the most developed states of the country. He stressed that agriculture should definitely get the status of industry. If agriculture gets the status of entrepreneurship, there can be a transformation of both agriculture and farmers in Bihar. The Honorable Minister called upon all of us to work to include Bihar among the five leading states of the country in the next five years.
Before this, the guests were welcomed by Dean Agriculture Dr. A.K. did | Welcome speech was given by the Dean of Agriculture. Director of NIAM, Dr. Ramesh Mittal said that Bihar has been ahead in agriculture and entrepreneurship for a long time and in future too, there is a lot of potential in the field of entrepreneurship in Bihar. He said that the contribution of agriculture in industries is more than 70 percent.
Several presentations were given in the technical session today including a presentation by Dr. Ramesh Mittal, NIAM Jaipur on “Development of Nutritious Grain Based Innovation and Value Chain” by Dr. Joseph IIT, Patna on the contribution made by IIT Patna to entrepreneurship development in Bihar.
