Krishi Vigyan Kendra Fatehgarh Sahib successfully concluded a five-day vocational training program on preparing delectable sweets from September 25 to 29, 2023. Dr Vipan Kumar Rampal, Associate Director (Training) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, provided insights into the training program and underscored the critical importance of such initiatives in the current agricultural landscape. He emphasized the practical skills and their application for self-sufficiency and entrepreneurship: vital steps towards increasing farmers’ income and enhancing the profitability of agriculture. The training equipped participants with various techniques for crafting a variety of sweets at home, including milk cake, ras malai, nutritious ladoo, kalakand, raw papaya halwa, and mung dal halwa. Dr Manisha Bhatia, Assistant Professor of Home Science, imparted these skills.

The training sessions included hands-on demonstrations, providing trainees with practical experience in preparing these delightful recipes. Moreover, the training program aimed to inspire trainees to consider entrepreneurship opportunities by leveraging the skills acquired during the sessions. By starting their enterprises, participants can improve their economic prospects and contribute to the growth of the local economy.
