Dr Raghavendra Bhatta, Deputy Director General (Animal Science), Dr G.K. Gaur, Assistant Director General (Animal Production and Breeding), along with the delegates of annual review meeting of AICRP on Pig, visited livestock and allied units of ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute today.

Dr Bhatta took stock of Institute activities and visited various units of dairy cattle, pigs, poultry, goats, and buffalo, as well as fodder unit, livestock waste valorization system, Jalopchar unit and Nakshatra Garden. He applauded the overall management of different units and research efforts of the Institute in improving livestock production in the coastal region.

Dr Gaur appreciated the Director and scientists of the Institute for the impactful research achievements in the field of coastal agriculture and livestock farming.

During the visit, the piglets of the newly released Goya crossbred pig variety were distributed to the scheduled tribe farmers under the AICRP on Pig.

Dr Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, briefed about various achievements of the Institute.
