19.04.2024 Dr. Himanshu Pathak Secretary (DARE) and Director General (ICAR) visited the ICAR-National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources today. During his visit, he inaugurated the newly developed research facilities at ICAR-NBAIR, Hebbal campus and the renovated India’s largest ‘Live Insects Repository’ housing 137 live species/strains of insects and 8 laboratories.

The Director General briefed the various initiatives of ICAR. He further released the databases on ‘Terebrantian thrips of India’ and ‘National Insect Museum (ICAR-NBAIR) Type QR Codes’ and a technical bulletin titled Predominant white grub species of India-Diagnostics and QR codes. Dr. Pathak also inaugurated the website of the 2nd International Conference on Biological Control (2icbc2025) to be held in Bengaluru from 12th-15th February 2025.

Shri. S. N. Sushil, Director, ICAR-NBAIR presented an overview of the institute’s activities and achievements.

The meeting was attended by the Directors of ICAR institutes and the in-charge of regional stations based in Bengaluru.
