A delegation of 63 farmers including three officials from Agriculture Department, Dansal, Jammu and Kashmir, visited Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) to obtain five-day training at Skill Development Centre.

Dr Rupinder Kaur, Association Director (Skill Development), informed that the agricultural experts of PAU explained in detail the processing of aromatic, medicinal and spice crops; organic farming and mushroom cultivation practices.

Dr SS Walia, Director, School of Organic Farming; Dr Tarsem Chand Mittal, Head, Department of Processing and Food Engineering; and other experts Dr Rajendra Kumar; Dr Neerja Rani; Dr Vajinder Kumar; Dr Ajay Chaudhary; Dr AS Sidhu; Dr Khusdeep Dharni and Dr Hira Singh dwelt upon organic cultivation of various crops; integrated farming system; mushroom growing; processing technologies and marketing strategies.

Mrs Kuldeep Kaur demonstrated the making of snacks, pickle and recipes using mushrooms.

Dr Prerna Kapila, while informing about skill oriented training courses, proposed a vote of thanks.
