On 29.04.2023 “ World Veterinary Day celebration” carried out by College of Veterinary Science & A.H, Sardarkrushinagar, Kamdhenu University. Under above celebration animal health camp and pashupalan shibir was organized at Akedi Village, Palanpur Taluka, Banaskantha District. More than 300 farmers took part in above pashupalan shibir as well as visited the various company stalls and got the awareness about various medicine or animal feed products. Inauguration of above animal health camp and pashupalan shibir was done by local MLA Aniketbhai Thakar. In his introductory speech he gave emphasis on successful animal husbandry practices done by local farmers. He acknowledged the contribution of College of Veterinary Science & A.H, Sardarkrushinagar, Kamdhenu University, Banas dairy and Animal Husbandry Department, Government of Gujarat for the uplift of animal husbandry sector in Banaskantha district. Dr. D. V. Joshi, Principal, College of Veterinary Science & A.H, Sardarkrushinagar, Kamdhenu University remained present on this occasion and provide the summary of work carried out by College of Veterinary Science & A.H, Sardarkrushinagar in the field of animal husbandry. He also asked local famers to take maximum benefit of College of Veterinary Science & A.H, Sardarkrushinagar for improving their livestock practices. Under above animal health camp, senior professors, Dr. R.M.Patel, Dr. B.K.Ashwar, Dr. H.N.Nakhasi of College of Veterinary Science & A.H, Sardarkrushinagar also remain presented and extended their services. Dr. B.K.Ashwar, Professor & Head, Department of Extension Education delivered a lecture on “Adarsh Pashupalan” to famers under above pashupalan shibir. 8 Assistant professors, 5 post graduate and 12 undergraduate students of College of Veterinary Science & A.H, Sardarkrushinagar rendered their services for animal health camp. Total 30 large animals were treated for various disorders like infertility, repeat breeders, mastitis, ketosis etc. under above animal health camp. NSS volunteers of College of Veterinary Science & A.H, Sardarkrushinagar and Polytechnic in Animal Husbandry, Sardarkrushinagar conducted a survey on the socio-economic status and animal husbandry practices of Akedi village farmers.
