Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana, started a sale point for processed meat and egg products near Hatchery Unit of GADVASU in PAU Campus.


Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor, GADVASU, while inaugurating the sale outlet asserted that this sale point is one of the significant efforts of the university in providing safe, hygienic and supreme quality livestock products for the consumers. He added that the proteins from animal products, particularly meat and eggs are of very high quality and are needed for the overall growth and development. He appreciated the efforts of the Department of Livestock Products Technology (LPT) for this novel initiative.

Dr. Yashpal Singh, HoD, Department of LPT said that the outlet will provide various meat products prepared in scientific and hygienic manner. Dr. Nitin Mehta, Rajesh V Wagh and O.P. Malav, faculty members of the department added that a variety of products will be available for the consumers viz. nuggets, patties, balls, meat and egg pickles. The outlet will be operating every Friday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.


Dr. S.P.S. Ghuman, Dean, College of Veterinary Science applauded the efforts of the department for the hard work in preparation and distribution of safe meat products for the consumers. Deans, Directors and faculty members were present at the venue to grace the occasion. Dr. J.P.S. Gill, Director of Research, appreciated the department for this initiative and said that meat products from university are in great demand due to assured quality. GADVASU is committed to provide high quality products for the consumers which will help in inculcating the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst students, farmers and youth.
