The training programme was inaugurated on 18th January, 2024 morning at CHES, Chettalli. Dr. Nayan Deepak G., Scientist (Fruit Science), CHES, Chettalli had briefed about the details of 3-days training programme. The Chief Guest Mrs. Jyothikumari, Deputy Director of Agriculture (H), Principal Agriculture Office, Civil Station, Vidyanagar, Kasaragod, Kerala addressed the gathering and explained the purpose of the training programme. Dr. Muralidhara B.M., Scientist (Fruit Science), CHES, Chettalli talked on importance of horticulture in enhancing farmers’ income.

Dr. Rajendiran S., Senior Scientist & Head (I/c) presided over the programme and narrated the major activities of the station. In different training sessions, the presentations included advanced horticultural technologies of CHES, Chettalli; soil, nutrient and water management in important fruit crops; and Theory and Practical on soil, plant and water sampling and processing by Dr. S. Rajendiran, advanced production technologies in Avocado and Rambutan by Dr. B.M. Muralidhara and advanced production technologies in Mango and Jack by Dr. G. Nayan Deepak. The visits to fields, nursery and laboratory were arranged for trainees. The valedictory programme was organized on 20th January, 2023 afternoon and certificates were distributed to the participants.
