Chairing the meet, Dr GPS Sodhi, Director of Extension Education, exhorted the extension scientists to strengthen their in-field and off-field connect with the farmers via personal interaction, and timely management of their (farmers’) agriculture related issues and problems. In the wake of ban on Pusa 44 by the Punjab government in the next Kharif season, scientists should make unceasing efforts to promote PAU developed non-water intensive ‘PR’ varieties which have received unprecedented response from the Punjab farmers during the last few years, he stressed.

Dr TS Riar, Additional Director Communication, welcomed the senior officials, heads of various departments, and research and extension scientists from Regional Research Stations, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Farm Advisory Service Centre’s and PAU. Later, he proposed a vote of thanks.
