ICAR- National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow, organised a stakeholders’ consultation and fishery-input distribution event  7.03.2024 for livelihood support for inland fish farmers of Puducherry under the guidance of Dr. U. K. Sarkar, Director, ICAR-NBFGR, in association with Fish for All Centre, M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Poompuhar, Kanchi Mamunivar Government Institute for Post Graduate Studies & Research, Puducherry, today.

The necessary inputs for fish farming such as nets for harvesting, hapa, feed etc., were distributed to the beneficiaries during the event.

Shri. P.M.L. Kalyanasundaram, Member of Legislative Assembly, Puducherry, Shri. Aman Sharma, Director, Higher & Technical Education, Puducherry, Shri. M. Selvaraj, Director, KMGIPSR, Dr. G.N. Hariharan, Executive Director, MSSRF, Dr. S. Velivizhi, Head, Fish for All Centre, M S Swaminathan Research Foundation, participated in the programme.

A total of 100 fish farmers from 26 villages of Pondicherry participated in the programme.
