ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone VI, Guwahati in collaboration with Research Complex for North-East Hill Region, Umiam and State Horticulture Research and Development Institute, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh organised a National workshop on Ecosystem Services in Agricultural Landscape of Himalayan Region of India at St. Claret College, Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh, on 11th&12th January 2024.

Shri Tage Taki, Minister of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy development and Fisheries, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Dr. S.K. Chaudhari, Deputy Director General, NRM, Shri Alemtemsi Jamir, IAS, Shri Ravi Prasad, IAS, Dr. B. S. Dwivedi, Member Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board, Dr. C.S. Rao, Director, National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Dr. R.K. Singh, ADG (AE), Dr. V.K. Mishra Director, ICAR-NEH Umiam and Dr. G. Kadirvel, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone VI, Guwahati attended the workshop.

Three technical sessions were held namely, Mapping and characterization of predominant ecosystems in the Himalayan region of India, Assessment and valuation of ecosystem services with emphasis on traditional farming systems in the Himalayan region of India, Strategies/Approaches of ecosystem management for empowering the farming community through payment of ecosystem services.
