KVK, Palem conducted a Field Visit to HDPS cotton fields at Kummera, Thummalsugur, Yathmathapur, Cherla Itikyal, Thadur (M), Nagarkurnool district on 04.08.2023. Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (PP) Visited HDPS cotton fields, Sowings were taken up during the month of June with Siri, Winner & Armitha of Nuziveedu varieties and followed 90X20 & 90X15 spacing, the crop is at vegetative to Flowering (30, 45 & 60 days) and in good condition with clean cultivation. Due to the continuous rains in the preceding week, in most of the HDPS cotton fields parawilt disease is noticed to an extent of 15-20%. Suggested to go for drenching with COC@ 3g/lit and Foliar spray with 2% urea or 19:19:19 @ 5g/lit. Since the crop is at different stages, suggested to spray Mepiquat Chloride (Chamatkar) @ 45 and 65DAS (1.0 ml/lit & 2.0 ml/lit) and spraying at. As a part of Technical Programme, FLD on ‘Demonstration of Pests and diseases management in HDPS cotton’, discussed about the importance of IPDM in HDPS cotton, Finally, Inputs (Neem oil, Yellow and blue sticky traps, COC, Thiamothoxam and Emamectin benzoate were ) were distributed. In this visit Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (PP), Mr. Bhaskar, Field officer, Nuziveedu Pvt. Ltd. & 18 farmers were participated.
