Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized Training programme on Yasangi crops to tribal farmers under Tribal Sub Plan project, 2023-24 at KVK, Malyal on 14-11-2023. Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture) briefed about IPM in Chili with special emphasis on leaf curl virus and wilt management. Sri B. Kranthi Kumar, SMS (Crop Production) explained about suitable varieties, good management practices in Greengram and Blackgram.
He also explained about weed management, paired row method and IPM practices for Fall army worm control in Maize and zero tillage cultivation, weed, fertilizer management for Sunflower crop. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal suggested farmers to adopt indigenous techniques like tying of ribbon bands and noise making instruments for Sunflower crop to protect from birds. She also reiterated IPM practices for Fall army worm control in Maize and pod borer complex in Pulses. Later, distributed 1.92q Sunflower hybrid seed (Raviteja-333 of Satyam seeds) under Tribal Sub Plan, 2023-24 to 48 tribal farmer beneficiaries from Doravarivempally and Eshwaragudem villages of Kothaguda Mandal. In this programme, 48 farmers and farmwomen from these TSP adopted villages participated.
